The start of your choir journey! 6th grade students will be assigned to class by voice part, either treble voices or unchanged/changing Tenor & Bass voices. This way, we can work on the specific quirks that face both groups with their voices at this age. These students will perform at all choir department concerts and will even have their own unique opportunity to participate as 6th grade choirs at a festival in the Spring. Students in these groups are highly encouraged to learn a vocal solo in the Spring and participate in the TCDA Elementary Honor Choir auditions.
6th grade boys meet 1st period and 6th grade girls meet 7th period.
This is the competitive show choir at STEAM/GDDS. These students auditioned for a spot the year before and take a "parent" choir class in addition to being in this ensemble. Participation in this group involves much more outside practice and performance time than the other choirs, and requires students to be very dedicated. These students sing and dance and in addition to performing at all concerts, they also have a competitive season of competitions in the early Spring. This group meets Monday-Thursday during Flex Time.
